1 Day Front Crawl Technique Development Workshop

Location: Abernethy Swimming Pool, Nethybridge, Inverness-shire, PH25 3ED  

Come and join SwimWild's experienced coach Alice Goodridge for a day focused on front crawl technique. 

Starting at 10:00 and finishing at around 16:30 the day will include the following -

After the workshop, you will also be sent personalised video footage for the day, with commentary and analysis to watch in your own time.

Numbers will be limited to 4 people to ensure that everyone gets as much one to one feedback as possible.

Please note that you must be able to swim a reasonable standard of front crawl in order to attend this workshop. 

Minimum requirement - An ability to swim 100m front crawl in the pool, without stopping. 

We also sometimes offer an 'Introduction to Front Crawl Technique Workshop' for those who need to learn the basics of the stroke. Please contact us for more information.

Pool Sessions

The small private pool at Abernethy is great for practising drills and perfecting your front crawl technique. During the morning and afternoon pool sessions, we will go back to basics and learn efficient technique - including body position, rotation, breathing, stroke timing and catch. Breaking the stroke down into stages, Alice and Sarah will give live drill demonstrations and work with you individually and as part of the group, filming each stage for the video feedback sessions.

Video Analysis 

In these sessions, you will have the opportunity to see yourself swim from above and below the water. Alice will give you each detailed analysis of your stroke, identifying points that are holding you back in the water and highlighting drills and techniques that will help you move forward with your performance and improve your efficiency.

The ability to review your work in the pool will make it much easier to make the adjustments needed to improve your stroke. Quite often there is a mismatch between what you are actually doing and what you ‘think you are doing’. There really is no substitute for seeing this with your own eyes.

Coach

Alice Goodridge is an ASA Level 2 swimming teacher and STA Level 2 Open Water Swimming coach with years of experience teaching and coaching swimmers of all ages and abilities in the pool and in open water. Alice is an accomplished long-distance swimmer, having completed numerous solo swims, including swimming the English Channel and length of Loch Lomond. Alice is a fully qualified Beach Lifeguard (RLSS NVBLQ) and holds an up to date First Aid certificate.
