We are pleased to announce the launch of our new Winter Swimming Workshop, designed to develop the knowledge and practical experience of those wishing to swim through the winter. The workshop and will include a combination of classroom discussions on safe and practical approaches to swimming in cold water and a short introductory swim with full safety cover.
The first of these workshops will be held at Loch Insh Outdoor Centre on 30th November 2019 -

The workshop will be lead by our experienced coaches Alice Goodridge and Sarah Wiseman, both accomplished cold water swimmers themselves.
Alice has been swimming over the winters (non-wetsuit) for nearly a decade and has competed in many winter/ice swimming competitions. She successfully completed an Ice Mile in 2018. Alice and Sarah were both placed in their age group in the 2019 UK Ice Swimming Championships 1km event.
Both Alice and Sarah are ASA Level 2 swimming teachers and STA/ASA Level 2 Open Water Swimming Coaches with years of experience teaching and coaching swimmers of all ages and abilities in the pool and in open water. Both are qualified Beach Lifeguards (RLSS NVBLQ), hold up to date Outdoor First Aid certificates and have completed the STA CPD on Winter Swimming Safety. In addition, Sarah is currently training to become an STA/RLSS trainer assessor.
We look forward to sharing our knowledge and experience of winter swimming with new and returning winter swimmers. The more we can be aware of the risks, our personal limits and other swimmers around us, the better and safer for us all.
Happy Winter Swimming!
