Come and join SwimWild's experienced coaches Alice and Sarah for a day focused on front crawl technique.
Starting at 09:00 and finishing at 17:30 the day will include the following -
2 x pool sessions
2 x video feedback sessions
1 x swim specific pilates session
Lunch and afternoon tea/coffee
After the workshop, you will also be sent personalised video footage for the day, with commentary and analysis to watch in your own time.
Numbers will be limited to 8 people to ensure that everyone gets as much one to one feedback as possible.

The small private pool is great for practising drills and perfecting your front crawl technique. During the morning and afternoon pool sessions, we will go back to basics and learn efficient technique - including body position, rotation, breathing, stroke timing and catch. Breaking the stroke down into stages, Alice and Sarah will give live drill demonstrations and work with you individually and as part of the group, filming each stage for the video feedback sessions.
In these sessions, you will have the opportunity to see yourself swim from above and below the water. Alice will give you each detailed analysis of your stroke, identifying points that are holding you back in the water and highlighting drills and techniques that will help you move forward with your performance and improve your efficiency.
The ability to review your work in the pool will make it much easier to make the adjustments needed to improve your stroke. Quite often there is a mismatch between what you are actually doing and what you ‘think you are doing’. There really is no substitute for seeing this with your own eyes.
The day will also include a swim specific pilates session with Sarah.
As a swimmer you need to work with the water - being misaligned can cause you to work against it. Misalignment can lead to a variety of tears, pulls or stains. Pilates focuses on strengthening your inner support system (deep abdominals and muscles closest to your spine). Being able to activate your inner support system will help you to attain maximum balance through your stroke, correct alignment and control.
Alice Goodridge and Sarah Wiseman are both ASA Level 2 swimming teachers and STA/ASA Level 2 Open Water Swimming Coaches with years of experience teaching and coaching swimmers of all ages and abilities in the pool and in open water. They are both accomplished long-distance swimmers, having completed numerous solo and relay swims between them. Sarah is also a Level 3 Mat Pilates Teacher.
